How to Connect Your Card Reader
Download the Box Office app to your device in the Apple App Store by searching GoFan Box Office For Schools. You can skip this step if you purchased your device directly from GoFan as the app will already be downloaded.
Log in to your Box Office account with your PlayOn HQ credentials. Make sure your account has Box Office permissions. Please take a look at How to Grant Users Access to Box Office for more information on how to add a user.
Once logged in, you will land on the Reader screen. You can follow the on-screen instructions to connect your card reader. You should be automatically prompted to turn on your Bluetooth and location services.
If the reader is detected, it will populate, and then you can select the Connect button. You will get a confirmation once the reader is successfully connected.
Once your card reader is connected, click the Sell icon to access your events. Here you will be able to choose from the different categories: Tickets, Concessions, and Fundraisers. The menu icon in the top right-hand corner will allow you to access Box Office events if you manage multiple schools.
If you would like more information on selling concessions with Box Office, you can see How to Set Up and Use Concessions in HQ.
Mobile passes cannot be sold using Box Office.
Once you find the event for which you are selling tickets, click on the event. You will need to select How should tickets be used? You can pick the Delayed (fans choose when their ticket is used) or Immediate (ticket is redeemed upon purchase) option. Select Confirm once the Redemption method has been selected.
See How to Scan Tickets Using Box Office on how tickets are redeemed at an event.
From the Tickets screen, you can select the amount of tickets for each ticket type the purchaser would like to buy. Select Checkout to continue.
The Checkout menu will allow you to select a receipt delivery method. You can select to receive your receipt by email or text message. Please note that if the Delayed redemption method is selected, you will not see the No Receipt option. Select Pay Now to take payment.
The Pay Now screen will indicate that your card reader is ready to take payment. You can insert, tap, or swipe a credit card. Payment methods include all major credit card types, Google Pay, and Apple Pay.
The Order confirmation screen will indicate that the payment was successful and that the receipt or tickets have been sent to the cell number or email address entered. Click on New Sale to start the process over again for the next customer.
