Social Media Tips
-
SHARE THE SITE LINK
Find your PlayOn Site URL in HQ under the "Accounts" page. Copy the link and share it with your community. Sharing the direct link ensures your community has immediate access to your athletic website.
-
INCLUDE A PHOTO
When you share the PlayOn site link, make sure your post is visually appealing! Upload a photo of your own or a graphic that’s included in the Success Kit. On Instagram, don't forget to paste your PlayOn Site link in your bio and mention in your post to "Check the link in bio" for direct access. High-quality images or graphics can significantly increase engagement on your posts.
-
INCLUDE YOUR OWN CAPTION
In the caption, mention that your community can find everything they need on your athletic website. You can even call out specific events and link out to them directly from the your PlayOn Site. Make sure to call out sport, level, gender, team names, game date/time, and any other important information about the event that your followers should know (e.g., Homecoming game, Senior Night, etc.). Personalizing your caption can draw more attention and make the post more engaging. Consider adding a call to action like "Don't miss out!" or "Join us live!"
-
TAG OTHER ACCOUNTS
Always tag @NFHSNetwork and @GoFanHS in your post to increase visibility. Additionally, if you are calling out a specific event, be sure to tag the social media handles of the schools featured in the event, as well as any specific team accounts they might have. This helps amplify your reach and can encourage those accounts to share your post to boost visibility and engagement. For example, tag school districts, local news outlets, or relevant community pages.
-
USE HASHTAGS
Before you click that "share" button, include hashtags so other accounts can find your post. Popular hashtags include #TexasFootballPlayoffs, #FridayNightLights, #VolleyballSzn, etc. Hashtags make your content discoverable to a wider audience beyond your followers. Research trending hashtags related to your event to maximize reach. Don’t forget to use local and school-specific hashtags to engage your community.
