Beware of Fake NFHS Network Accounts
Imitation is the best form of flattery, but unfortunately, the NFHS Network has many imitators. Throughout the season, you'll encounter numerous fake accounts pretending to be the NFHS Network. Here are some tips to help you identify and deal with these impostors.
Official NFHS Network Accounts
- All social media marketing from the NFHS Network will come from official accounts with a verified blue checkmark.
- If an account promoting live streams does not have this verification and directs you to a link other than nfhsnetwork.com, it is likely a scam.
- Be especially cautious of suspicious Twitter handles like @highschoolstreaming46592839 or @footballlive142972.
Fake Accounts on Facebook
- These impostors often create fake accounts using NFHS Network imagery.
- They schedule hundreds of Facebook events, inviting schools to join or cohost.
- This is not a strategy used by the NFHS Network.
Fake Accounts on Twitter
- A search for "high school live stream" will reveal numerous fake posts.
- Any link in a tweet that doesn’t contain nfhsnetwork.com is not affiliated with the NFHS Network.
Identifying Fake Accounts
- If they link to a site other than nfhsnetwork.com, it's most likely fake.
- These fake sites don’t steal NFHS Network video feeds. They scrape scheduled events and falsely market them to scam users into providing payment information.
